XML for newbies - Getting Started Home page

This has been taken from several news groups and many references to those who wrote bits of it are included.

All communications (almost) on the WEB will eventually (the new HTML is now defined in XML) be done with XML syntax!

• XML is a syntax than can be parsed with a SAX & DOM parser.
• DTD, DCD, DDML, SOX, XSCHEMA are offerings for schemas for data representation
• XLink, Xpointer ... are linking options for looking into parts of an XML documents or to other XML documents
• XSL is a style sheet for displaying of XML files in browsers and other applications.
• XHTML, XFD, XFDL, .... offer ways of presenting data to the user (inc forms).
